Tories fail to build promised starter homes

Tories fail to build any of 200,000 starter homes promised in 2015, says watchdog

Mohammad Yasin said:

"In 2014 the Tories promised that they would build 200,000 starter homes for first time buyers. This was taken by many as the Government finally recognising the housing crisis in this country. Now we know that their promise was nothing but empty words. Not a single house was built under that project.

People looking to own their own home deserve better. Labour will build one million new, genuinely affordable homes over 10 years, giving people a helping hand onto the housing ladder."
