Pension justice for women born in the 1950s

I have always supported the WASPI campaign for a fair settlement for the thousands of women born in the 1950s who were unfairly impacted by changes in the state pension age.

That is why I am delighted that Labour have announced pay-outs of up to £31,000, with an average payment of £15,000. This will compensate women who had little time to prepare for a increase in the state pension age which has left some in vulnerable financial situations.

For a long time politicians have spoken about the need to do the right thing; Labour will take the action needed to do the right thing.
