Typical Tories

Welfare Minister Lord Freud has David Cameron’s backing to remain in his job despite publicly stating that some disabled people are not worth the statutory minimum wage and that changes should be made to allow them to be paid £2 per hour instead of £6.50.

Lord Freud has, since the story broke, gone out of his way to point out that he did not really mean what he said at the Conservative Party conference.

But put those remarks in the context of this Government’s undermining of the disabled through welfare changes and the ‘Bedroom Tax’ and perhaps his remarks were not quite so unexpected.
