Resignation no surprise

I was unsurprised to hear of the sudden resignation of both the Liberal Democrat councillors for Goldington ward, despite the fact that they had already started to campaign as candidates in the forthcoming local elections.

Their names and photos had already appeared on leaflets and cards; although, we haven't seen much of the Liberal Democrats in the area as we once did when they were a more energetic team.

It's hard to speculate what has been going on behind closed doors at Borough Hall between the mayor and his previously loyal councillors; however, it is clear that there are serious issues.

Given that they have previously prided themselves standing as local candidates, it is surprising that one of their new intended candidates in Goldington -- a strongly urban ward -- is a farmer who lives in Ravensden.
