Queen's Park Honey Hill Road resurfacing

Following inspection of recent resurfacing to Honey Hill Road, Bedford, some of the road surfacing asphalt material has been identified as being not to specification; there are some visible ‘shiny’ patches on the road surface.

The contractor has been asked to replace the road surface on the section of Honey Hill Road from St Pauls Road to Honey Hill Gardens. This work is being undertaken at the contractor’s expense. This work is planned to take place on Thursday 26th January 2017 with works starting at 8am and to be complete by 6pm.

In order to carry out the work quickly and safely it will be necessary to close Honey Hill Road to traffic from the Old Ford End Road roundabout to its junction with Paddlers Cour. All residents have been notified.

Queen’s Park Councillor Mohammad Yasin, said: “It’s disappointing to have to disrupt resident’s lives for a second time, but it is right that Bedford Borough Council insist the works are carried out to the required high standard.”

Councillor Mohammed Masud added: “We’ve been asking for this road to be resurfaced for some time, so it’s vital that it is done properly and the new surface will last.”
