Mohammad Yasin speaks out against hospital car park charges

Labour's plans to end hospital parking charges were welcomed today by Bedford & Kempston's Labour candidate, Mohammad Yasin.

Mr Yasin said: "Hospital parking charges hit patients and families hard, particularly those who have to make frequent trips for appointments or visits.

"Bedford Hospital charges up to £12 a day for the use of their car parks. These costs can cause unnecessary worry at what is often a difficult time, so I'm pleased that Labour want to tackle this issue."

The cost of the policy would be met through raising tax on private health insurance.
