Litter cleared in Kingsbrook

Borough councillor James Saunders and Labour council candidate Abu Sultan joined more than 30 people for a community litter picking session in Kingsbrook, Bedford.

Organised by the Community Volunteering Team, the group cleared rubbish from the area around Cardington Road, including roadside hedges and shrubbery near the Tesco store.

Among rubbish found were car parts, a 15mph speed limit sign, a mattress, concrete block, a bag of cement, a bike wheel, and part of a sofa.

In total, 19 bags of general rubbish and 13 bags of littler which could be recycled were filled.

Julie Rowley, personnel manager for Tesco Extra Bedford, supported the volunteers and provided refreshments.
