Harpur Councillors query safety after stolen car crashes into house

ColleenAtkins2.jpgCouncillors Colleen Atkins and Louise King have asked questions about about road safety after a stolen BMW crashed into a house at the junction of Roff Avenue and Foster Hill Road.

Councillor, Colleen Atkins, said: “You don’t expect to go to bed and get abruptly woken with a car embedded in your home. It must have been terrifying.

“Cllr King and I are asking questions about the safety of this section of road. The family will find it hard to feel safe after this dreadful shock so we will ask if barriers can be installed to prevent anything like this happening again.”

Police are keen to hear from anyone about the accident. Two men were seen running away from the scene.
