Labour councillor for Goldington, Cllr Anthony Forth, joined Bedford YMCA overnight on Friday 26 February to sleep out to raise awareness of roughsleeping in Bedford.

Accompanied by his wife, Hazera, the two experienced sleeping out on a cold night.

Anthony said, "SleepEasy takes place every two years and aims to both highlight the plight of those sleeping rough, as well as raise the much needed funds for services at YMCA Bedfordshire. I was keen to take part and, together with my wife, we have raised over £711 so far by sleeping outside from 7pm to 7am."

"I was also pleased that, as a councillor for Goldington, this years SleepEasy camp was kindly offered by Viking Self Storage in Elms Park Industrial Estate. Well done Viking Self Storage."

"Thank you to all my Labour councillor colleagues and others in their generosity of sponsoring me to sleep out."
