Flytipping affects us all - and it is illegal

JamesSaunders2.jpgSpring has sprung and thoughts turn to decorating and gardening but how do we get rid of the rubbish created?

In my own ward of Kingsbrook I have already reported three instances of fly tipping this year, in the garage blocks of two roads. Dumped items include metal drums which may have contained hazardous chemicals, furniture and garden waste.

Fly tipping is something that affects us all. We all pay council tax and none of us want to spend it on removing dumped rubbish. As well as regular bin collections the council provides a Household Waste Recycling Centre and also offers a Bulky Collection Service. There is simply no need to dump rubbish and create a nuisance for others to clear up. You don’t want it in your back yard – why would anyone else?

Fly tipping is illegal – if you see it report it to the council on 01234 267422 so they can take the rubbish away and try to identify the culprits.
